The Modì NSC was established in 2013, covering the Prima Via Grande from Piazza della Repubblica to the Medici ditches, Scali Saffi and D’Azeglio, up to Piazza Grande, Via Cairoli, and Piazza Cavour. The current perimeter covers the vibrant heart of the historical shopping center of the city, including the Historic City Markets, the historic Central Grocery Market, the largest and most beautiful in Europe, the historic Made in Italy Outlet Market of Via Buontalenti, the Historic Piazza delle Erbe, Piazza Cavallotti, and the surrounding stores that represent the tradition of excellence and the city’s tradition with its characteristic shops and venues. An expansion of its perimeter is imminent, including the addition of the Second Via Grande towards the Monument of the Four Moors and the port with its old fortress. For the people of Livorno, it’s the beating heart of the city’s commerce and the ever-evolving tradition.
